Fireflies Last Show

Part of the excitement of IMCFest this year was fireflies last show.  The band had announced a few months ago that they were finished, so it was a real treat to get to hear them play one last live show.  Fireflies has been around since 2004. Like most local bands they started out by playing a great deal of local shows.  I was first exposed to Fireflies when they played with Hell in the Pacific at a few different basement shows. Saturday’s performance was full of every ounce of spark that their original performances had.  The feeling in the room was one of mixed joy and sadness that the group’s time in Champaign had been great, but was ending after this performance.
